5 Reasons Christians Should Support Israel—Not Its Politics, Religion, or Social Policies
Christians may support Israel because the Jewish people descend from Abraham and are part of God’s covenant history. However, this does not require unconditional support for every political, religious, or social policy. Jews remain lost and under God’s judgment because they continue to reject Christ. Still, they retain a unique role in God’s unfolding plan. [Why are Jews hated?]
1. Israel’s Return is a Fulfillment of Prophecy
The Restoration of Israel
God promised to protect Israel
Throughout millennia, Israel has been at war and taken captive for their disobedience, yet God promised to restore it. From the Assyrians and Babylonians to the Nazi’s oppression, hatred persists, but so does God’s divine provision. [Historical timeline of Jews]
Prophecy fulfilled in 1948
The establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 was not only to save Jews from the holocaust but to fulfill a Biblical prophecy mentioned in ancient manuscripts. More importantly, Jerusalem is called the “eternal city” where Jesus will return, as seen on the Mount of Olives (Acts 1:9-12 and Zechariah 14:4).
Ezekiel 37:21
“And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their land.”
2. Satan is at War with God’s Children
The War of Religions
Since the U.N. helped establish modern Israel after WWII, Muslim nations immediately attacked. Over the decades, Islamic terrorists have bombed civilians, fired rockets, and indoctrinated children to hate Jews and Christians. [Stages of antisemitism]
This is more than politics—it’s spiritual warfare. The Bible says Satan wages war against those who follow Jesus (Revelation 12:17). Islam denies Christ as the Son of God and rejects the gospel, placing itself outside the family of God (1 John 2:22).
While Christians are called God’s children through faith in Christ (Galatians 3:26), Islam follows a different spirit—one that opposes the cross, the Son, and salvation itself. Satan isn’t at war with his own—he is at war with those who belong to the one true God.
The Quran on violence against non-Muslims
The Quran justifies violence against non-Muslims (such as Jews and Christians). Surah 9:29 dictates that those who do not embrace Islam (the religion of truth) will face death, while Surah 9:5 declares war on nonbelievers. [Religion of peace]
The Quran advocates violence against nonbelievers, including Jews and Christians. These interpretations fuel the religiously driven war against Israel and Christians. [FP]

3. Christians and “Messianic Jews” Should Stand in Solidarity
Gentile Christians: Heirs of Abraham
Gentile Christians are Abraham’s descendants by faith, which means that Jews are fellow brothers and sisters in the promise. Therefore, Christians should stand in solidarity with Jews, specifically for those who believe Jesus is the Messiah, for both are God’s children by faith and heritage.
Galatians 3:7
Those who have faith are considered spiritual descendants of Abraham.
Galatians 3:29
Believers in Christ are heirs of God’s promises, becoming part of Abraham’s seed through faith in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 122
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’
4. The Outrage Against Israel is Demonic
Satan hates God’s people
The State of Israel has the right to exist and defend itself. The Nazis, Muslim terrorists, leaders, and civilians who hate Jews and have called for their destruction are allies of God’s enemy. The rage is deeply demonic.
Such resentment stems from Satan’s hatred towards God’s people and the Gentiles whom He chose to be saved—no wonder the war against Jews extends to Christians.
Revelation 12:17
“Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”
ISRAEL’S ETERNAL ENEMY: THE CALIPHATE WILL FALL.
5. Jews Remain Lost
Supporting a modern nation is not about being blessed or cursed. Genesis 12:3 is often misused, but the promise points to God’s covenant fulfilled through Abraham’s line in Christ. The blessing and cursing hinge on response to that covenant—those who receive the Messiah are blessed; those who reject Him remain under judgment (John 3:18; Romans 10:1–4).
Although ancient Israel carried out this redemptive role, the modern State of Israel is a secular, political nation, not the covenant itself. They remain lost because those who reject Christ remain under judgment.
Caveat on Genesis 12:3: “God Will Bless Those Who Bless Israel”
The Abrahamic Promise is fulfilled in the Messiah—not in a nation. The promise—“I will bless those who bless you… and whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3)—was given to Abraham and reaffirmed to Jacob (Israel), but its fulfillment centers on God’s redemptive plan in Christ for all who believe. [God’s chosen people]
Bottom line: Christians should support Israel with the aim that they accept and believe in Jesus as the Messiah. Christians who support Israel’s politics, including a third temple, should take caution, as its rebuilding ushers the antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4).
Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
