Bible Verses are taken down in Sheriff and Police offices, increasing
Many government establishments had largely appreciated the practice of freely putting Bible verses or inspirational quotes in government offices until recently when Democrat politicians began to weaponize left-liberal ideology in 2021.
It strengthened atheist groups and individuals to campaign against slogans or Bible verses about God, zeroing in on Christianity. The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian values and the Mosaic law found in several State constitutions.

2024, Bartlett Police Department, Tennessee
In July 2024, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) told the Bartlett Police Department in Tennessee to remove a Bible verse displayed inside the police building.
The verse, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God,” was seen as a promotion of Christianity, even if it was meant to encourage the staff and support residents. FFRPI argued it violated the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause and threatened legal action if the verse was not removed. [FFRF]

2024, Chester County Sheriff”s website Bible verse removed
On June 20, 2024, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina featured a Bible verse from Matthew 5:9 on its website: “Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.”
The verse was displayed alongside a stylized black and white American flag featuring a “Thin Blue Line.” This imagery sparked a complaint from an anonymous resident who was “triggered” by the display and contacted the atheist group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a Wisconsin-based organization advocating for the separation of church and state.
The following month, FFRF sent a letter to Chester County Sheriff Blair Weaver arguing that religious imagery on government websites could alienate non-religious citizens and undermine public trust. FFRF argued that the religious statements on government property are inappropriate. The website administrators were forced to remove the image. [CL]

2021, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office Bible verse removed
In 2021, FFRF demanded that a North Carolina sheriff’s office remove a massive display of a New Testament Bible verse slogan on its wall, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me, Philippians 4:13.” A resident informed the state church watchdog that this was unconstitutional.
Although the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office states that the Establishment Clause prohibits government sponsorship of religious messages, the Sheriff doubles because it inspired and motivated the staff of such a slogan. It was paid for with private funds, not with county funding.
