Checklist of a True Christian

Four Important Checklists of a True Christian Follower of Jesus

1. ☑ The cost of a faithful Christian

A true Christian does not live in sin or make excuses for it. Just because you said the sinner’s prayers and believed in your heart Jesus is Lord do not necessarily make you Christian. Daily repentance is part of a Believer’s life.

God’s children seek holiness because God is Holy. What Jesus did came at a great price grace may be free, but it is not cheap.

Hebrews 12:14
“Pursue peace with everyone and holiness—without it; no one will see the Lord.”

2. ☑ A true Christian pleases God, not people

What Jesus did on the cross pleased God—He obeyed Him. He paid the ultimate price to redeem us from hell. Our response is to deny ourselves of things that do not please God.

God calls us to a higher form of worship, and it’s not about singing songs but getting rid of things that cause us to sin or perhaps avoiding sinful relationships. We seek daily repentance and love one another and thus bear fruit.

Romans 12:1
“And He who sent Me is with Me; He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him. Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

WHY CAN’T I STOP SINNING?

3. ☑ A true Christian begins and ends the day by talking to God

Your priority in life is what you treasure most. For example, praying and reading God’s words the moment you wake up means you value talking to God more than your morning rituals.

Ask yourself: Do you put God first in all things you do? Do you praise Him multiple times a day; are you thankful for the good and bad things; are you excited to share God’s words with strangers?

Psalm 145:1-2
“I exalt You, my God, the King, and praise Your name forever and ever. I will praise You every day; I will honor Your name forever and ever.”

BIBLE VERSES AND PRAYER FOR SEXUAL PURITY.

4. ☑ A true Christian bears the Fruit of the Holy Spirit

A faithful Christian bears good fruit. We may not be perfect, but a follower of Jesus always seeks these fruits through daily sanctification. We bear fruit in the likeness of Jesus.

Galatians 5:22-23
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.”
