Famous people that should have been aborted

Famous people that doctors recommended to be aborted, but their mothers refused

Based on clear diagnoses and often prioritizing the preservation of the mother’s life over that of the fetus, doctors will likely recommend abortion. However, for those who believe in God, miracles can still happen, exemplified in the following stories of what essentially are “abortion survivors.”

Andrea Bocelli

Born on September 22, 1958, Andrea Bocelli is an Italian opera singer, songwriter, and record producer. Doctors recommended abortion after diagnosing him with congenital glaucoma that leads to eventual blindness.

Bocelli’s parents chose not to abort him. Though he completely lost his vision at 12 years old, he never lost sight of his love of music and perfected his voice. Today, millions of people continue to be inspired by Bocelli’s angelic voice.

Celine Dion

Born on March 30, 1968, Celine Dion is a Canadian singer known for her powerful vocals and international success. Her mother had a difficult pregnancy, and doctors suggested abortion. Her parents refused and prayed for a miracle.

They named her after the song “Céline” and went on to become one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Celine was raised a Roman Catholic. After being diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014, Celine Dion spoke about how her faith helped her cope during the challenging time. She credited her strong belief in God for providing her with strength and support.

Celine Dion identifies as a Christian.

Born on October 17, 1972, Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known professionally as Eminem, is an award-winning rapper, songwriter, and record producer.

His childhood wasn’t pretty, and despite facing a tumultuous upbringing and his mother considering abortion, fate took a turn, and her mother decided to keep her baby. Eminem became one of the best-selling talented rappers of all time.

A few of Eminem’s songs alluded to spirituality. In an interview with Vibe in 2009, he said, “God is my higher power, and He always has been. I definitely pray a lot more than I used to… I do believe in God, and I do pray.” [Medium]

Jack Nicholson

Born on April 22, 1937, Jack Nicholson is a legendary American actor known for his iconic roles in films such as ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’ and ‘The Shining.’

He was born at a time when an unwed woman having a child was taboo. Despite his mother being advised to abort him, facing an uncertain future, Nicholson was born and became one of the most acclaimed actors in Hollywood history.

Nickelson was raised as a Roman Catholic and attended church as a kid. Although he has not publicly said he is an atheist, he no longer believes in God, according to an article in FFRF.

Jack Nicholson is an agnostic.

Justin Bieber

Born on March 1, 1994, Justin Bieber is a Canadian singer-songwriter who rose to fame as a teenager. Her mother, Pattie Mallette, had a messed up life. She took drugs and alcohol.

Pattie was also sexually abused and wanted to end her life. Then, she got pregnant at 17 years old and was pressured to abort her baby. She found her peace in God and became a Christian. Pattie chose life and kept Justin. [CBN]

Oprah Winfrey

Born on January 29, 1954, Oprah Winfrey is a media mogul, talk show host, and philanthropist. She was born to a teenage single mother who faced hardships and was encouraged to have an abortion, but she chose to give birth to Oprah.

Oprah’s upbringing wasn’t as easy as either. She became pregnant and underwent more depression. She wanted to commit suicide but ended up in a miscarriage, which became her “second chance” in life.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, she said, “I might not be alive because now you can just Google how to do it.” Oprah persevered and later became one of the most influential figures in television and media.

Oprah Winfrey believes in God but does not adhere strictly to Christianity. She draws inspiration from various spiritual teachings and emphasizes personal growth and mindfulness, which is, in essence, not Christianity at all.

Oprah Winfrey is an ecumenical about her faith.

Steve Jobs

Born on February 24, 1955, the late Steve Jobs was the co-founder of Apple Inc. and a key figure in the personal computer revolution.

Steve’s biological parents, Joanne Carole Schieble and Abdulfattah Jandali, were American Catholics, and his father, Abdulfattah Jandali, was born into a wealthy Muslim family in Syria. They weren’t ready to start a family, and abortion was never an option because of their religious belief.

Joanne decided to have a closed adoption and have him adopted by Clara, an accountant, and Paul, a machinist. They named him Stephen Paul, nicknamed Steve. He grew up in a loving home and became one of the most influential figures in technology. He died in 2011.

Steve Jobs’ religious beliefs were complex. Raised Lutheran, he later explored Eastern spiritual practices like Zen Buddhism but identified as a secular humanist, focusing more on personal growth than traditional religion.

Steve Jobs is an agnostic.

Tim Tebow

Born on August 14, 1987, Tim Tebow is a former NFL quarterback and current professional baseball outfielder. He is also a philanthropist and founder of two non-profit organizations that aim to uplift the lives of children who cannot afford proper health care, and rescue abused children.

Tim’s parents were Christian missionaries and prayed fervently to have a son. Unfortunately, the pregnancy was complicated and could have affected his mother’s life. Doctors advised abortion.

However, abortion is illegal in the Philippines, where they were doing mission work. They refused to go back to the USA for an abortion and prayed earnestly instead. Tim Tebow was born and went on to succeed both on and off the field.

Tebow’s story best exemplifies how God can turn uncertainties into miracles. Our part as followers of Jesus is to abide in Him, who hears our prayers.

Tim Tebow is a devout Christian.
