Professing Christians can be demonized by Satan and his devils
In Ephesians 4:27, Paul warns Believers against giving the devil a foothold. Bitterness, unforgiveness, the pride that disables, and complacency allow the devil to demonize the disobedient. Verse 2 warns Satan is at work with those who allow their sinful nature to reign in them.
As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
Demon possessed, demonic bondage, and demonization
The devil cannot possess a faithful Christian. However, some can be influenced, as we see in the lives of superstar preachers who fell from grace. Unlike Job, God allowed the devil to torment him to reveal his faith. Satan had nothing on him.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.
The devil cannot possess a faithful Christian.
Dr. Karl Payne’s account
According to Dr. Karl Payne, there are Christian missionaries who had to deal with missionaries in “demonic bondage.” Dick Hillis and Ed Murphy of Overseas Crusade shared their experiences of this nature.
In his book, ‘Biblical Demonology’ published in 1952, scholar, archaeologist, and theologian Merril Unger wrote true Christians couldn’t be demonized. In 1960, he reversed his position in his book ‘Demons in Our World Today.’ [Spritual Warfare p151]
“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
Demonic Influence on Lukewarm Christians
John Ramirez was a former Satanist and warlock who the devils trained. He could talk to them and was taught how to cast spells. He warns lukewarm Christians of demonic influence.
In John Ramirez’s testimony, he said Satan could steal the souls of unbelievers but can’t do much to Christians who are devoted to Christ and constantly in prayers.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy
Dr. Richard Ing, the author of Spiritual Deliverance, has seen numerous demonic possession. In the early 1990s, he trained students in spiritual warfare in a rural Bible college in Labasa, Fiji. He emphasized binding Satan’s strong men—critical to casting out demons.
A local pastor who used to be a pagan worshipper said that Degei, the god of Fiji, could still talk to him. After Dr. Ing’s message, the demon Degei said to the pastor and said he would kill him that night.
Naturally, Dr. Ing took it seriously and prayed. “Lord, please protect me tonight,” he said. Immediately, he had a vision of a vast angel, at least 25 feet tall, by his cottage with a sword. It had enormous wings with feathers that were above its head.
The following day, about thirty students claimed they saw a ring of many angels walking around the property, linked arm in arm. Demons were trying to get in but couldn’t.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge…
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, and no disaster will come near your tent, for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.
