The story of Gerald Smith pronounced dead but lived again
Melissa Fields’ dad was having surgery when his heart stopped beating. He died from an aorta rupture. According to her testimony, they cleaned and prepared his body so the family could properly say goodbye.
After 45 minutes since he was pronounced dead, Gerald Smith’s heart suddenly began to beat.
He woke up but couldn’t speak. Desperate to say something, he looked for a paper to write on. The only thing they had was his wife’s checkbook, where he wrote, “God saved me!”
He was released two months later but given only three weeks to six months to live. Yet he lived another seven years.
The prayers of his friends and family were answered. God gave those extra years of an absolute miracle.
Mr. Smith returned to his maker on February 25, 2021. He was a giving husband and father, a blessing to everyone he met. “My dad was truly a God-sent man and will forever be missed!” Melissa said.

In an uncommon testimony similar to Gerald Smith and John Smith, Simone Grant’s brother, who had lupus, was pronounced dead after 30 minutes.
