History of John15.Rocks School Club
In 2015, a resident at a village in Dasmariñas Cavite organized a Bible Study through the help of a missionary couple – Don & Aloi Satorre, and Pastor Oliver Almo. The small group attracted youths from Paliparan to join the weekly Bible Study.
The youth joined the Betesda Fellowship Church, founded by the couple, while others attended other churches in Cavite. The weekly fellowship at the village was an independent and non-church group.
The vision and the purging
Decades earlier, the group organizer had a burden to create a newspaper media ministry to connect christian ministries in the Philippines in a single medium. Pastor Oliver confirmed this vision, and J15 was formally established in 2017. Before the incorporation, the missionary couple left and focused on their school youth mission.
On April 18, 2018, the ministry was formally dedicated by Pastor Oliver Almo of Community of Praise Makati. In 2019, the weekly Bible Study in the village ceased. Local ministry efforts are focused in the Pasay area, under the leadership of Prof. Jon Solangon.
In 2020, after the LORD’s “purging,” the ministry reorganized to reflect its original vision. The name of the ministry is a direct reference to Apostle John’s passage.
Pioneer Youth Leaders
Erica Rosales, Nadine De Guzman, and Andy Borbon were former students of Betesda and were involved in several of its activities. They organized an independent youth group earlier in 2015 to minister to other students in Betesda Fellowship Church.
Aloi Satorre requested them to support the Bible Study Fellowship that was independently organized. The desire of Erica, Nadine, Andy, and other youth members to belong to an organized youth group took shape when J15 was established in February 2016.
