The right mindset is essential in achieving success. As followers of Jesus, we are told to renew our minds daily, seek sanctification, and be transformed entirely by grace. Doing so helps us achieve a “sense of Christian maturity.”
What’s the mindset of Christ?
The mindset of Christ manifested in His human character. These are humility, obedience to the Father, love, and forgiveness, among others. Jesus’ top of mind was not always ministry but taking time to be alone with His Father. The point is everything He did was for God’s glory.
How to have the mind of Christ?
Apart from Christ, we cannot do anything. Therefore the first step to achieving a “Christ-like mind” is abiding in Him (John 15). We must remain in His love, which means we must obey His commands.
Bible verses for having the “Mind of Christ”
1 Corinthians 2:16
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what the will of God is, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Philippians 2:5
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he cannot understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Peter 1:13
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God gave us a spirit, not of fear but power and love and self-control.
