Satanic Temple Offers “Unbaptisms” at Pride Event, Then Abruptly Pulls Out [Newsweek]
Baptist pastor Jonathan Shelley cites Bible, statistics, and the law on why Pride March should not be allowed
Pastor Jonathan Shelley of Stedfast Baptist Church in Texas addressed the City Council in Arkansas on May 26, 2022. He was “horrified and ashamed” that the city acknowledged LGTBQ Pride Month.
Shelly used words like homosexuality and abomination. He also pointed out that the Bible says people who practice these should be executed. He also cited laws that prohibit same-sex activities and what statistics say about the harmful effects to the society of the LGBTQ movement.
Naturally, it did not sit well with left-liberal people who support the gay movement.
“It’s a strange world we live in when it’s newsworthy that a Pastor believes Pride is an abomination!” Pastor Jonathan posted on his Facebook after his speech at the council meeting.
He quotes the following Bible verse about why the Pride Month should not be supported by a nation whose state constitution acknowledges God as its sovereign.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
What would the Bible say about the PRIDE march?
God’s abomination on same-sex relationships is clear. Even if the LGBTQi justifies that “I was born this way,” for Jesus, “You must be born again” to enter God’s kingdom. Homosexuality, even if it is natural is a sinful nature.
