Seminar on Overcoming Depression in Pasay
John15.Rocks School Club in Pasay had its first seminar titled ‘Dear Stress, Let’s Break Up!’ on November 29, 2018. A hundred people successfully attended the event. Despite the limitations of the school facility, the make-shift venue of the City University of Pasay corridor accomplished its goal.

The school was gracious to lend chairs and a simple sound system that helped make it a success. Members of the J15 School Club pitched in to decorate the make-shift stage in a section of the corridor, where the special guest of the speaker did her talk.

Club President Sarah Alarcon led the opening prayer, and Professor Cleofe Castor, the school registrar, gave the opening remarks and shared insights on preventing depression. As a special treat, the CUP Glee Club led the singing for the anthem and a special number.
The club officers created the “groupie post” to energize its members, group themselves, and upload their photos on social media with the hashtags #OvercomingDepressionSeminar and #dearstressletsbreakup.

Love and attention is a basic human need
Most depressions are rooted in relationships or lack of it. Unfortunately, many fall for the wrong person to be happy because they’re desperate to be loved or accepted.
At best, we seldom find this kind of person because we are “all” broken inside. We have a vacuum in our hearts that only God can fill, but many refuse Him. This is why we need to tell everyone who Jesus is. He came so we can have an abundant life. (John 10:10)
In 2024, Jessa Catle was invited again to the university to facilitate the Managing Emotions seminar.
