Texas Professor Orders Christian Student Out of Class for Resisting Transgender Indoctrination
In 2025, a Christian student at Texas A&M University, the largest public university in Texas, was ordered to leave a children’s literature class after pushing back on a professor promoting leftist gender ideology and same-sex themes. [Daily Wire]
The student argued that President Trump’s executive orders recognizing only “two sexes” made the lesson illegal. She added that the LGBTQ material “goes against, not only myself, but a lot of people’s religious beliefs. And so I am not going to participate in this because it’s not legal.”
“Expert” Dr. Melissa McCoul tells the student to leave
Professor Dr. Melissa McCoul dismissed the reasoning, telling her she was “under a misconception that what I’m saying is illegal” and asserting, “I do have the legal and ethical authority [and] professional expertise in this classroom. It’s time for you to leave.”
The video, released by Rep. Brian Harrison (R-TX), was described as clear evidence of “transgender indoctrination” and of students of faith being punished for exercising their religious and legal rights.
Texas A&M Continues to Defend Woke Curriculum
Texas A&M admitted the course content was “misaligned” with the curriculum but refused to fire McCoul. Gov. Greg Abbott has threatened Welsh’s job, but school president Mark Welsh defended LGBTQ material despite Trump’s directives.
Texas A&M has repeatedly drawn backlash for weaving woke ideology from DEI quotas to LGBTQ into its curriculum. In 2025, President Trump issued an Executive Order that declared, “It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female,” and called DEI mandates “illegal.”
