The war on health

The war on health

God wants us to live healthy lives and lists ways to care for our bodies. This includes what food to avoid and personal hygiene. Although God allows eating meat, a vegetarian diet option and regular fasting are in the Bible.

Today, science proves the benefits of “Biblical fasting” and the “Leviticus diet.” However, recent woke ideologies abrupted the century-long perception of what is healthy and beautiful.

The enemy’s assault on health is to label obesity as a positive thing and even healthy. He does it through beauty pageantry, glossy magazines, and queer politicians, who are the “woke role models.”

What the Bible says about being healthy

  • Temple of the Holy Spirit: The Bible refers to the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, highlighting the importance of caring for one’s body and pleasing God with it. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 12:1)
  • Leviticus diet: Old Testament laws in Leviticus and Deuteronomy outline clean and unclean foods.
  • Fasting: Found in both the Old and New Testaments, fasting symbolizes spiritual discipline; Jesus fasting for 40 days emphasizes self-discipline and reliance on God (Matthew 4:1-2).
  • Self-control: The Bible promotes moderation, cautioning against gluttony, and upholding virtues of self-control and moderation (Proverbs 23:20-21).
  • Physical training: It has value, but godliness has value for all things (1 Timothy 4:8).
  • Self-discipline: We must not overeat (Proverbs 23:20-21).

1. The changing perspective on what is good and healthy

The TV series “Lucifer” premiered on Fox in 2016 and later moved to Netflix. It shifted the perception of young viewers by portraying God’s adversary as less evil, helpful, and ultimately good.

We see the same strategy in social norms. God’s enemy calls same-sex unions blessed and witchery endearing by creating a “good witch.” Along the Pride March, adultery is paraded by normalizing polyamory in media, and recently, obesity has been touted as the “new healthy.”

The “father of lies” is waging war on boys, children, women, marriage, and the assault on the traditional family, and he wants us to change our perception so we can call evil good or, in this case, label obesity healthy.

Changing our perspective on what is healthy seems like a capitalist idea or a woke political stunt in the name of diversity. Ultimately, “new normals” are part of an anti-Biblical agenda.

Cosmopolitan’s ad features obese women and labels being overweight as chic and healthy at the height of the woke movement in 2018 and 2021.

2. The politics of health

  • The government has done little to stop the ploriferaiton of unhealthy and processed food that is causing obesity.
  • In the 1980s, 3-4 million kids were overweight out of 226 million people (1.33%). Today, more than 14 million children and teenagers are obese out of 332 million people (4.22%).
  • Politicians today have done little to ensure proper health care for poor individuals.

Health officials don’t have to be fit themselves

  • Quebec’s Health Ministry was run by an obese man, Gaetan Barrette (2014). A petition that demanded for him to lose weight was deemed “fat shaming.”
  • Belgium’s Minister of Public Health, Maggie De Block (2014), and England’s Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Thérèse Coffey (2022), are obese women.
  • Democrat President Joe Biden appointed Rachel Levine, an obese and transgender woman, as assistant health secretary in 2021.

The unhealthy food culture in school

The USA allocates $1,200 per student for breakfast and lunch programs. Meanwhile, Asian countries like South Korea spend roughly $300 per student but with a highly healthy variety.

American public school food has faced backlash over the years for serving unhealthy and bland-tasting food, and the reason for this has always been low budget.

  • According to an article by Public School Review in 2022, fast food is “healthier” than school food.
  • Junk food and sodas are available through vending machines in schools. In 2023, Saudi Arabia was one of several countries that began to ban soda in schools.
  • A 2021 nutrient study found that school meals, especially breakfast, often exceed the recommended sugars, while cafeterias frequently serve processed foods with high preservative levels, according to a now-deleted investigation by USA Today. [USDA]

3. Glorifying obesity

In 2024, the National American Miss Pageant named a morbidly obese 23-year-old woman named Sara Milliken. In just a few years since the “woke revolution,” obesity is glorified, perpetuated by celebrities like Lizzo, brands like Calvin Klein, and now pageantry.

About 400 years ago, being overweight was a sign of appeal and social status. Today, we are seeing the same perception. “For children and for many adults who are overweight, they are starting to perceive themselves as the new normal,” says an obesity expert. [WebMD]

George Keywood, a London-based actor, gained strong TikTok followers by showing off his “overweight videos,” where he’s often seen eating unhealthy food.

“Fat acceptance is killing people”

In 2019, Angelina Duplisea appeared in Miley Cyrus’ video and faced backlash for allegedly promoting obesity. Duplisea is obese and advocates for body positivity and self-acceptance. Those who criticized her were accused of “fat shaming.”

Controversial host Pierce Morgan criticized Keywood and said, “I don’t find it funny; I think it’s quite sad. People shouldn’t be celebrating being morbidly obese because it is a dangerous condition that causes many people to die.” [TalkTV]

In 2023, Southwest Airlines offered free extra seats to “plus-size passengers” who needed more space. Obesity has become tolerable if not celebrated.

Ultimately, all these go beyond politics because Satan wants everything to be permissible. To remove hierarchies and equalize everything under the banner of woke diversity and inclusion. Hence, this case does not need moral or healthy standards.

Obesity is not only a huge problem in the United States but a social contagion, thanks to capitalists and policymakers who tell us it’s OK to be fat.
