Victor Basa grew up in a second family. It was a broken family to begin with,” Nakita ko naman yung effect noon pa”. I had an absentee father,” Victor said.

Naghanap si Victor ng friends to fill that gap, kaya sumali siya sa frat, inom, until the point na hindi na siya pumapasok and he got kicked out on school, and then luckily nakahanap siya ng paaralan na maari niyang pasukan.

One day millionaire

A friend invited to watch a fashion show.

“I start working, not because you love the craft, but because may utang ka sa kayabangan mo.”

Life’s good, yun ang gusto niyang i-project sa lahat.

Victor had a friend who committed to suicide. Doon niya narealize na life is very short and kailangan niya na magbago, ngunit parang may kulang. “Nag change ako ng lifestyle, di na ko umiinom, nag-triathlon ako, but there was still something missing.”

Ang pangakong pagbabago napako dahil nagkaroon ng problema sa kanyang 5 years live-in relationship partner.” It was a very tough break-up for me.” He started going out again, drinking, sleeping around, which is one of the most regretful things that he did. He also started doing drugs, “kasi when you’re in that situation, parang okay lang, kasi everyone is doing it naman. Okay lang naman. I can control it.”

I really think religiosity is what got me in the door – but it was the person of Christ that made me stay

Umakyat si Victor sa Baguio to get some peace and quiet and listen to his inner voice. Nagkausap sila about faith and soon after, Victor was invited to attend a Christian church. “I went there, I wanted to criticize it.”

“I really think religiosity is what got me in the door – but it was the person of Christ that made me stay.”

“Love others more than yourself”

“The Lord actually speaks that to us, you should love others more that you love yourself.”

God can change people, and give you a new life.

Now, I have a ministry in Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF). It’s called “Unique CCF and we help the specially abled kids, autism, ADHD. Our goal talaga is to share to them and also to minister to the parents that everything has a purpose.”

Victor incidentally has a younger brother who also has autism. Joining the project helped his relationship with his brother. “Mas naging patient ako, he also changes yung pinaka-priorities mo because hindi mo na kailangan mag-impress ng tao. God can change people, and give you a new life!”
