War Against the Bible: The Bible Has Become Even More Offensive to Left Liberal Groups and Certain Democrat Politicians
The Bible has become increasingly offensive to left-liberal groups and politicians. Once a moral foundation for America, biblical values are now attacked as secular forces like the ACLU, SPLC, and Democrat politicians such as Nancy Pelosi (Roman Catholic) and Chuck Schumer (Jewish) weaponize the Constitution’s neutrality against faith.
Left-liberal activists first rejected the Genesis creation account once taught in schools, pushing evolution as unquestioned science. They then banned school prayer (1962), removed Ten Commandments displays (notably in 1980), and targeted the cross of Christ (various cases from the 1990s onward). Now they also challenge public nativity scenes, Christian symbols, and the cross on veterans’ memorials.
In 2015, activists increased legal efforts to remove religious monuments. In 2020, Christian prayer gatherings were fined or criminalized, and in 2021, religious language was being silenced.
As demonic forces gain ground, rising hostility toward Christian symbols fulfills biblical prophecy (1 Timothy 4:1). The world’s rejection of Christianity aligns with the signs of the last days, pointing to the imminent return of Jesus.
1925: ACLU’s First Attack on the Bible
John Scopes (ACLU-backed teacher) challenged Tennessee’s law banning the teaching of evolution in 1925. Decades earlier, Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution had sparked a shift in “modern science,” which increasingly dismissed the Genesis creation account as unscientific, disavowing Intelligent Design.
The “Scopes Trial” ignited a national battle over whether schools should teach biblical creation or evolution, paving the way for later court rulings that removed Genesis-based teaching from classrooms.
The Bible vs. Worldview
In the early 2000s, politician and author Chuck Colson warned that teaching evolution in school was a powerful tool to undermine Christianity, arguing it shifts the worldview from God as Creator to materialism, which leads people to reject the Bible’s authority and morality.

Led by atheist and left-liberal groups, such as the ACLU, and atheist activist Madalyn Murray O’Hair, supported by Justice Hugo Black (appointed by Democratic President Franklin D. O’Hair, a prominent atheist figure, was later kidnapped and murdered in the most gruesome way in 1995 by former employee David Waters.
1973: Ted Kennedy Supports Roe v. Wade
Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy supported Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide, leading to the loss of over 60 million unborn lives, contrary to the biblical teaching on the sanctity of life (Psalm 139). However, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK), his nephew, is a vocal pro‑life advocate and critic of vaccine mandates.
1980: Removing Ten Commandments Displays
Atheist-aligned left-liberal groups, including the ACLU and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which is aligned with Democratic interests, backed legal challenges that resulted in Stone v. Graham (1980).
1990s Onward: Targeting the Cross
Atheist left-liberal groups such as the ACLU, Americans United, and SPLC challenged crosses on public land, including the Mt. Soledad cross case in California.
2004: John Kerry Opposes Marriage Amendment
Democrat Senator John Kerry opposed a federal marriage amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman. The amendment failed, paving the way for further legal recognition of same-sex marriage, against the biblical view of marriage (Genesis 2:24).
2012: Obama Endorses Same-Sex Marriage
Democrat President Barack Obama publicly endorsed same-sex marriage, shifting public and legal momentum toward its nationwide legalization in 2015, challenging traditional Christian doctrine.
2014: Removal of Bladensburg Peace Cross
The American Humanist Association, an atheist group, sued to remove the Bladensburg Peace Cross, a World War I memorial in Maryland, arguing that its presence on public land violated the Establishment Clause.

In 2018, twenty women theologians published Une Bible des femmes (A Women’s Bible), a collection of feminist readings of disputed biblical passages, not a rewritten Bible. John MacArthur would challenge the need to reread Scripture through a feminist lens to settle the question of church leadership. He argued that Paul’s instruction in 1 Timothy 2:12–13 grounds male leadership in God’s created order, not in a patriarchal custom that the church is free to discard.
