Who is the Whore of Babylon in the Bible?
The “Whore of Babylon” in the book of Revelation symbolizes a decadent place. Others associate her with Ishtar, the Babylonian goddess of love, fertility, and war.
Adorned with luxury, she is the alluring “great prostitute” who holds the “golden cup of abomination,” seducing the world with her fornication.
Throughout history, the “whore” has been associated with Rome, the Catholic Church, and recently, the United States.
Perhaps the “great prostitute” of Babylon embodies a culture and society that culminates in the rise of the anti-Christ.
REVELATIONS 17:1-2
One of the seven angels who had poured out the seven bowls came over and spoke to me. “Come with me,” he said, “I will show you the judgment that will arrive on the great prostitute who rules over many waters.
The world’s kings have committed adultery with her, and the people who belong to this world have been made drunk by the wine of her immorality.”
Rome, Roman Catholic, and Woke Evangelicals
The pagan Roman Empire was generally regarded as the prophetic “Whore of Babylon.” The seven hills of Rome (Rev 17:1) are often associated with “BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS,” who rules over kings (Rev. 17:18).
As the empire evolved into the Holy Roman Catholic Church, reformers saw the papacy as the WHORE who exploited the church God with its idolatry, corruption, and deception.
Recently, evangelical “woke churches,” with their women pastors and LTGBQIA crusades, are seen seducing Christendom with its moralistic theistic deism.

America is also associated with the prophetic metaphor of the “Whore of Babylon.” Although founded on religious ideals, it seduced other nations with its moral filth when it became a powerful nation.
Today, the USA has the most abortion clinics and proud atheist celebrities and influencers who parade their sins to the world. It is also the hub of the porn industry with the most successful platforms for “casual sex meet up,” and where “glorified transgender people” and the Pride March originated.
America’s role in end times Christian persecution
The United States was founded in the Judeo-Christian tradition. After the Second World War, atheists and Satanists organized themselves to usher in the age of Aquarius, and values began to disintegrate.
Since 2015, Christian persecution by the LGBTQ community has led to imprisonment, loss of jobs, and public ridicule.
By 2021, America’s culture war culminated in celebrating sin and atheism—marked by adultery, gender equality, and Hollywood’s extreme moral deviation.
With these in mind, America has seduced the world with its filth—becoming an embodiment of the “Great Whore of Babylon.”
