3 Reasons why Christians should support Israel

Three reasons why Christians should support Israel

• Israel is a fulfillment of a Biblical prophecy.
• Satan is at war with God’s children.
• Israel needs prayers and support.

1. Israel is a fulfillment of a Biblical prophecy

Restoration of Israel

The establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 was not only to save Jews from total annihilation because of Nazi hatred but to fulfill a Biblical prophecy found in several Old Testament texts.

Jerusalem is the “eternal city” where Jesus will return in Mt. Olives ( Acts 1:9-12 and Zechariah 14:4).

God will bless those who bless Israel

Israel is God’s chosen people, but by His grace, He has extended this favor to the Gentiles, and God will bless those who bless Israel. The opposite is true when a person allies himself with those who hate Israel.

Ezekiel 37:21
“And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their land.”

Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse, and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

God will bless those who bless Israel.

2. Satan is at war with God’s children

God promised to protect Israel

Throughout millennia, Israel has always been at war and taken captive for their disobedience. Yet, God continues to extend patience and promises to restore them. From ancient Babylonians to the Nazis, hatred toward Jews persists, but so does God’s divine provision.

After WW2, the League of Nations (formerly the United Nations) rallied to support the establishment of modern Israel. Immediately after the state’s inception, Israel was attacked by neighboring Muslim countries.

Since then, there have been numerous suicide bombers and missiles hurled at Israel. However, Israel has managed to protect itself and reduce casualties.

Christians share a common heritage with Jews

Gentile Christians are Abraham’s descendants by faith, which means Jews are fellow brothers and sisters—even if they do believe in Christ. Therefore, Christians should stand in solidarity, for Christians and Jews are God’s people (Galatians 3:7; 3:29).

Romans 4:16
Therefore ye are justified of faith and works, through grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to them only who are of the law, but to them also who are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.

Psalm 122
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’

3. The outrage against Israel is demonic

Turning point: Israel-Hamas War

For the last seven decades, Israel has endured attacks from Arab nations, and for nearly 20 years, Palestinians in Gaza have been launching missiles and orchestrating suicide bombings against Israel. [HRW]

In 2023, the Palestinian Sunni Islamist group Hamas (a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization) led surprise attacks against Israel. They kidnapped families, raped women, and killed babies. Israel retaliated with full force. [CRS]

Palestinian victimhood

The IDF repeatedly told Palestinians living in Gaza to evacuate, but Hamas encouraged its citizens to remain and “die for Allah.” However, it was Israel who faced the outrage—not the Palestinian terrorists.

Hence, Muslim terrorists and their Western supporters accused Israel of genocide when the fact is that Israel’s approach to the war had the least aggression as compared to other wars.

School campuses across the United States have threatened fellow students and professors who are Jews. The protests have become so uncontrollable that police enforcement intervened. Once again, Jews live in fear, just as they did during Hitler’s time.

Israel needs prayers and support

The State of Israel has the right to exist and defend itself. The Nazis, Muslim terrorists, leaders, and civilians who hate Jews and have called for their destruction are allies of God’s enemy. The rage is deeply demonic.

Such resentment stems from Satan’s hatred towards God’s people and the Gentiles whom He chose to be saved—no wonder the war against Jews extends to Christians.

Revelation 12:17
“Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring—those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.”
